    a problem and enjoys creating a solution. When she is not changing the status quo, she is usually coaching sports, running

    meetings or spending time with family, including her first grandchild.

    For this week’s segment of Invent America, Michael King and co-host Rita Crompton welcome George

    Butler to discuss &quote’s first in inventing?

    George Butler is a successful aerospace/mechanical engineer who has worked over the last

    35 years for companies such as Rockwell International (Space Shuttle), Hughs Helicopters and McDonnell Douglas (Apache

    Helicopter), and for Boeing (Phantom Works, classified projects) etc. With over 35,000 hours of CAD design and so many projects

    that vary from watercraft to helicopters to jets and spacecraft, he has been exposed to a lot of design challenges and has

    produced 14 patents for my designs both professional and personal. In retirement, Butler started his own business, GB3DesignLLC,

    where he designs his own creations for making products easier to use and a lot more fun.

    Bio: Derry Griffin, a successful contractor for more than 25 years, has hands on experience in all aspects of the construction business.

    Over the years he has realized that there are a lack of products that provide contractors’ support and organization during basic construction processes. Since necessity is the mother of invention, he has created and implemented many items that facilitate more efficient and effective working methods promoting solid, quality handiwork, which ultimately increases job profitability.

    His goal is to alleviate basic frustrations all contractors experience by sharing his knowledge and products.

    Bio: George is the President of Invent New England, one of the oldest inventor organizations in the country devoted to education and resources for independent inventors.
    George’s most successful venture to date has been helping to create KettlePizza with co-founder Al Contarino in 2010. KettlePizza, turns charcoal and gas grills into pizza ovens. KettlePizza products have been sold to people in more than 70 countries. KettlePizza has been a prize on The Price Is Right, showcased on the Today show, Boston’s Channel 5 segment Made in Massachusetts, National Hardware Show Best New Product. In 2019, Peters and Contarino were invited to the White House to represent Massachusetts and showcase KettlePizza as one of the country’s best ‘Made in America’ products.

For more than a decade, however, his knowledge and expertise as a general contractor have been put to use by hosting the nationally syndicated television and radio program HomeTalk with Michael King.
