    What is First in Inventing

For this week’s segment of Invent America, Michael King and co-host Rita Crompton welcome George

Butler to discuss &quote’s first in inventing?

George Butler is a successful aerospace/mechanical engineer who has worked over the last

35 years for companies such as Rockwell International (Space Shuttle), Hughs Helicopters and McDonnell Douglas (Apache

Helicopter), and for Boeing (Phantom Works, classified projects) etc. With over 35,000 hours of CAD design and so many projects

that vary from watercraft to helicopters to jets and spacecraft, he has been exposed to a lot of design challenges and has

produced 14 patents for my designs both professional and personal. In retirement, Butler started his own business, GB3DesignLLC,

where he designs his own creations for making products easier to use and a lot more fun.

The Inventor Lady interviewing inventor Derry Griffin

Bio: Derry Griffin, a successful contractor for more than 25 years, has hands on experience in all aspects of the construction business.

Over the years he has realized that there are a lack of products that provide contractors’ support and organization during basic construction processes. Since necessity is the mother of invention, he has created and implemented many items that facilitate more efficient and effective working methods promoting solid, quality handiwork, which ultimately increases job profitability.

His goal is to alleviate basic frustrations all contractors experience by sharing his knowledge and products.

    Questions:

    1.  Derry, what have you invented?

    2.  Do you think of yourself as an inventor?

    3.  Tell us a little about your products.

    4.  What advice do you have for other new inventors?
