Prospective inventors need to understand the costs of certain materials. The materials inventors choose can impact their ability to get their inventions to market. For this week’s segment of Invent America, Michael King and co-host Rita Crompton discuss “The Impact of Manufacturing Materials” with inventors John Lopez (Handy Hamper Helper) and Jacob Morrise (MicroFold Stroller), and product expert Ron Angstead (RapidPro Manufacturing Corp).
John Lopez has had a lifelong passion for mechanical engineering and engineering construction, utilizing his talents to solve problems. It is with that passion and talent he invented Handy Hamper Helper, a hamper with a lift to help a person empty out contents without having to bend over in hamper.
Jacob Morrise has been a mechanical product designer since 2006. As a mechanical designer, dozens of the products he has worked on have gone to market, including doing most of the mechanical design for the first Ring doorbell. In 2018 he started his own design firm, consistently pushing product designs to help individuals and families.
Ron Angstead founded RapidPro Manufacturing Corp in 1994 when he was an engineer with a dream. Working from his garage, he had the education, enough cash, and the desire to be successful. RapidPro Manufacturing Corp specializes in product development, engineering, prototyping, production, and patent support services.
Rita Crompton, known as “The Inventor Lady,” is an industry expert with decades of experience helping innovators develop their ideas into sellable products. Ms. Crompton has helped inventors bring to market everything from full size functioning tractors to baby products – there’s a reason she’s called “The Inventor Lady.”
Michael King, known as “the Cajun Contractor,” has been in the home improvement and home construction industry for nearly three decades, first by working for a home improvement company and then becoming a fully licensed general contractor owning and managing his own home improvement company.
